McGregor is not on the way to anywhere. You have to mean to come here. That's part of what makes it what it is — a village at the foot of the Riviersonderend mountains where the light is different and the pace is different and people come back, specifically, because it stays the same.
The Krans Nature Reserve begins at the edge of the village — and that's exactly where my villas are. The Breede River Valley stretches out below. In summer it's hot and still and golden. In winter it's cold enough for fires and quiet enough to hear yourself think.
In & around McGregor
Take the N1 to Worcester and turn off to the R60 to Robertson, then follow the signs to McGregor. If you take the N2, turn off at Stormsvlei and follow the tar road to Bonnievale, then to Robertson and follow the signs to McGregor. If you'd like to drive dirt road: you can take a short cut after Stormsvlei directly to McGregor. GPS coordinates: -33.9476° S, 19.8233° E
